Looking Forward

Mobile app for city commuters that allows them to meet people that cross their path everyday in public transports.

We believe public transports are the present and the future for city commuters, because there are many cars, too much stress and… only one Earth.
There is room for enhancing the experience of riding a public transport, 5 days a week, 48 weeks a year!

This app takes advantage of the growing trend on match making (a.k.a. dating) apps, by shifting the paradigm from location-based to routine-based searches.
There's more: users can NOT send each other messages, so the only way to interact is to actually stand up and talk, face to face!
Ok, maybe we will have a “I spotted you” feature just to give you a first push. But no more!

Early glancers around the world

Hey there!

Today’s post is the kick off for a tour around the world.
We invite you to find out a little bit more about some of our “early glancers”, people that will be the first to test out the app and hopefully become ambassadors in the countries they live and work at.

So… *drum rolls* meet Marta, through the 6 questions we will ask everyone in this tour.

1. In which country are you currently living?
The Netherlands.

2. What transportation do you use in your daily commutes? In which city?
Train. Between Rotterdam and Gorinchem.

3. On average, how long does your commute take?
Around 1 hour.

4. What do you usually do during that time?
Sleeping, browsing the internet, reading, listening to music.

5. Do you usually talk to strangers? Does that idea please you, or makes you feel uncomfortable?
It is not common but it has happened. It pleases me, I believe the journey would become more interesting.

6. Do you think that in the country where you commute people would be open to try Glance?
I think so, given that many people use public transports for their day-to-day journeys and often travel alone.

What if the rules are wrong?

Hello strangers!

We invite you to read THIS awesome piece by the NY Times:

Here’s a teaser:

If you’ve ever been on a subway or public bus, you know the rules. Don’t make eye contact, stay as far away from other people as the space allows, and for the love of God, don’t talk to anyone. But what if the rules are wrong?

Although it looks like this article was paid/sponsored by Glance we can assure you we don’t have the bucks to bribe the NY Times. Yet. Enjoy.

Looking Forward to writing you soon!

We give you Glance (formerly known as Déjà Vu)

Hello there!

To show you how dynamic this team is, we have just started this adventure and already we are changing the name of the app! That’s the way we roll.

Let us introduce you to… Glance – Looking Forward.

Déjà Vu was the working title so far but since things got really serious when becoming finalists of the awesome Vodafone Big Apps Lisboa we decided to start the naming and branding from scratch. Hope you like it!

Stay tuned as we will be around for the next few weeks, letting you know about how it’s going. Sharing our victories and craving for your support when things don’t go as expected (yes, there will be such times!).

Looking Forward to writing you soon!
